The Company now generates a £22 million turnover. This affords us significant buying power and we now have considerable contacts locally, UK wide and also in Europe. We pride ourselves in the quality and choice we offer to both our wholesale and distribution customers.

While many wholesale businesses have seen a severe decline over the last 5 years with a number closing down, North Down have developed their business and sought out new customers. We still supply to a number of traditional fruit and vegetable shops but also supply semi wholesalers, food processors and some small/medium supermarkets and other retail outlets.

Our food services division has also been an amazing story, already a well established and well known business we launched our “fine foods” range in 1999 to supplement our core ranges and this has grown to around £1.1 million in 2004. Our food services division currently employs nearly 50 staff and last year did over £6 million of business.

Our customer base is a who’s who of the local hospitality industry including Hilton Group, Hastings Group and Botanic Inns. We also supply to a number of local restaurants including the Rankin Group and Shanks.

North Down still feel there can be significant growth within our market place and with an increased product portfolio and expansion of our operations both locally and further a field feel we can continue our amazing success story.
